This is my first collection of short stories and it is the one that initiates me into fictional writing. It brings me back frequently to humorous pieces. The serious and the reflective are flavours that are not absent from this collection, but it is the funny, the awkward and the gawky that typically make up this book. Characters rather than plots was what seemed to occupy me most.
My publisher, M. Lal, of Writers Workshop, Kolkata, asked me to get this work published by a more professional and a more commercially oriented publisher. But that is a side of the writer’s craft that I have always found myself lacking in.
